Hi.

I'm sorry that I cann't help you with your problem, but I wanted to ask if you have a setup like I was asking for in https://forum.zentyal.org/index.php/topic,23678.0.html and if you could tell me how you performed the ad-migrate coup d'etat ?

Thank you.

Hi,

if all you need to do is migrate emails from your old imap server to your new one you can find some information here.

I hope this helps.

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Zentyal 4.0 as first Exchange server
« on: November 07, 2014, 04:16:49 pm »
Thank you for the update.
So it seems it is kind of possible to use zentyal 4.0 as exchange server if it is also on the primary domain controller.
On the openchange mailinglist i got the tip that it should be possible to transfer the FSMO roles from the Windows machine to the Zentyal server. and then set up the openchange modules.
I never tried this though.

Did anybody try this or has a test setup where this is possible?

Installation and Upgrades / Zentyal 4.0 as first Exchange server
« on: October 31, 2014, 12:09:43 pm »
Hi,

on the Zentyal 4.0 announcement webpage it says:
Improved provisioning of Zentyal as first Microsoft® Exchange Server.

Can somebody explain to me what exactly is now possible?
Like for instance is it possible now to have an MS Windows Server 2008R2 as first domain controller (without Exchange) and add the Zentyal server to this domain with openchange enabled?

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

I have a MS Windows Sever 2008 R2 with an Active Directory on it. There is no Exchange on this server. Is it possible to setup Zentyal 3.4 as an additional server which integrates with Samba4 in to AD as well as using Openchange?
The official documentation [1] only speaks about configuring-a-stand-alone-openchange-server. No further information is given.

Thank you in advance for any help.

You can use imapsync for zarafa without knowing the passwords of every user.
http://www.zarafa.com/wiki/index.php/Imapsync_migrating_to_a_new_server

If you use dovecot as your imap-server it is possible to set a masteruser password. With this you can login as every user and copy their emails with imapsync.
http://wiki.dovecot.org/Authentication/MasterUsers

I would also like to point you to this version of imapsync, as the original author stopped to release it under a open source license.

Installation and Upgrades / Edit zarafa user details
« on: November 16, 2012, 01:35:30 pm »
hi,

i have two zentyal 3.0 server with the latest updates as of 14. November 2012. On one of them i have my users and groups and sync them to the second server which serves as mailserver with the zarafa groupware installed.
After a lot of struggle with the master-slave sync process it works fine now. So i now have my 80+ users in sync on both server.

What i want to do now is to change the user details presented in the zarafa webapp or webaccess applications.
I tried to add some information to a users informations (like address, telephone number, etc) in zarafa webapp, but i can not even write anything it the textfields.
In zarafa webaccess i can write to the fields, but after saving the information i see the information never got stored anywhere.
As i assume this user informaation is stored in the ldap which is accessible by other ways than the webinterfaces from zentyal and zarafa it should be possible to add the informations via importing of ldif files.

But this is just an assumption.
Can anyone tell me should this work? Are there any consequences i should know of in advance? Are there plans to make it possible to edit user details via zentyal or zarafa interface? Can it be activated anyhow?

I know, a lot of questions. But i think a lot of people could use this information.
Thank you.

Markus

Thank you. That worked.  :)

Hi,

i am using zentyal 3.0 and try to import a few users (~100) into the zentyal database. For this i want to use the script from here http://trac.zentyal.org/wiki/Documentation/Community/HowTo/ImportUsersInBulk
But i want to be able to change the uidNumber and gidNumber of these users. As i dont know how to do this with the ImportUsersInBulk script i want to use athe ldap approach.
To do so i need to know how i can connect to the ldap server which is used by zentyal. All the information i found is for the zentyal versions before 3.0 . So these did not help in any way.  I know where to get the information and the password with which i can connect, but i do not know an which port ( i read somewhere it had to be changed because of samba4 ) and i do not know which authentication parameters to use (SASL, etc.)
Can anyone provide me with this informations?

Thank you in advance.

Markus

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Mail module fails to configure on Slave
« on: September 26, 2012, 07:46:59 am »
Reply to myself.

* Updated both machines to 3.0.2, removed the Slave from the master in the Synchronization Settings and removed Mail and GRoupware modules.
* Set the slave to synchronize to No Server at all.
* Save changes on both machines.
* On the slave added the master as server to sync from.
* In a terminal on the master executed the slave-sync command in /usr/shar/zentyal-users/
* Installed Mail and Groupware modules on the slave.

Now it almost works. ;-)
But I have a new problem with zarafa-server not running. I will open a new thread for it.
