Installation and Upgrades / HOWTO: Zentyal+Zarafa+Setup+Outlook+Thunderbird+mobilephone sync
« on: February 18, 2012, 09:04:22 pm »
Hi all,
some might not know my tutorial on the above mentioned topic:
http://trac.zentyal.org/wiki/Documentation/Community/HowTo/ZarafaSetupWithOutlookThunderbirdSync
I just added a part about installing official certificates for apache, admin-interface and imap. Now Thunderbird doesn't complain any more...
Any hints and reviews are welcome.
Cheers
BBKing

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Zarafa 6.4->7 Update
« on: January 17, 2012, 11:06:43 pm »
@Mittelerde:Thanks very much, this has worked pretty well, except I see "6.40.8-27223" as version number on the webaccess login, but the new design appears. (a reboot solved this problem) When I type zarafa-admin -V in the shell, I get:
Product version: 7,0,2,29470
File version: 29470
When I log in over the webaccess it displays the 3 frames, but loads forever and doesn't show any content (see screenshot) (a reboot solved this problem)

Installation and Upgrades / Re: 2.0 to 2.2 - Third-party modules
« on: January 17, 2012, 02:33:27 pm »
I did it with a second HDD, just to have a desaster recovery experience. Worked quite well with adding a new disk to the RAID1 array.
I used the howto from here (it's in german, though)

I'm in the same situation right now. I had to pull one of my disks out of the software RAID1 config to have a full raid setup in the new server. That means, I somehow have to make sure, I have a copy of my whole system, before I start the upgrade....I'll probably will invest in another HDD and make it a full RAID1 system again, before I try upgrading.
Especially I am worried about the Zarafa upgrade.....any hints on this (I saw the this post, but Zentyal 2.2.1 comes with 7.0.3)?

Installation and Upgrades / [SOLVED] Re: Zentyal 64bit setup: manual partitioning broken?
« on: January 15, 2012, 02:38:35 pm »
Managed to get a cd drive on the server and boot from the CD. Now the manual partitioning works. This is quite weird behaviour for the same image, huh??

yes, the iso is OK, I checked that. I am installing from a USB-Stick, though.
I had the same problem with 2.0.2-amd64, so that's why I'm not sure, what's wrong....
thanks anyway!

Installation and Upgrades / [SOLVED] Zentyal 64bit setup: manual partitioning broken?
« on: January 13, 2012, 07:40:04 pm »
Hi there,
can anyone confirm / deny that the manual partitioning on the newest zetyal 64bit iso does not work? I always get a red warning "could not find root partition" and have a deadlock (when I push the "continue" button, I again get the red warning and have to quit installation)
Please, this would be urgent as I am at the beginning of a fresh install.
Thanks a lot in advance!

Installation and Upgrades / Re: VPN Connection as a gateway? Is that possible?
« on: November 14, 2011, 08:59:16 pm »
They most likely gave you only pptp VPN access data (which is, quite low security for a bank in my eyes...)
I think, you only can do this with Zentyal 2.2 or above, but I'm not sure (still stuck with 2.0 on my side).

Mittelerde, thanks for this post!
I've been thinking about the upgrade to Zentyal 2.2 or only to Zarafa 7.0.
Are there any significant improvements in Zarafa 7.0, that would agrument the extra work on the upgrade?
Thanks
BBKing

Could you paste how you did this?
I have found 3 different locations for certificates, some work, some don't....
Thanks

Installation and Upgrades / pptp on WAN port possible?
« on: October 31, 2011, 12:16:16 am »
Hi Guys,
I was hoping for 2.2 to have pptp support included. I installed it in a virtual machine, but to my biggest surprise there was only pptp support for VPN, but not for accessing the internet.
I have a 2.0 machine where I installed all the software for a pptp-adsl connection. I can connect to the internet on the zentyal machine, but the internet traffic doesn't get routed from ppp0 to the internal interface, since there is no config option for this.
Is it possible to somehow get this to work?
Thanks in advance

Yeah, the howto deals with version 2.0.x
I will update it as soon as I have successfully migrated to 2.2.
cheers

Hi there,
try using the search function, this has been discussed just a few hours/days ago. Try my howto and see how far you come: http://trac.zentyal.org/wiki/Documentation/Community/HowTo/ZarafaSetupWithOutlookThunderbirdSync
And please let me know if the howto is a good point of info for this.
Thanks.

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Need to get Zarafa working with Outlook
« on: October 12, 2011, 06:50:41 pm »I was trying myself to use Outlook(2003,2007) on Windows Xp and 7 and It wasn't possible to configure outlook to work with Zarafa 7(on Zentyal 2.2).
The strange things which is happening is that even with firewall stopped I can't telnet on port 236,so is not possible to configure Outlook properly.
Other strange thing is if I,m modifying to server_bind = 0.0.0.0 after a restart or even without restart ,if I check the settings it became 127.0.0.1.What is happening?
Which file are you changing exactly? /etc/zarafa/gateway.cfg or /usr/share/ebox/stubs/zarafa/gateway.cfg ?
