And after the last post I understand now why all my users had problems to log in month ago. I had reset the passwords and everything worked fine then. But now I know the real reason 
.
For the administrator account I had set the password later than for the users. And for that reason this account was disabled now.
So my circle of understanding has been closed
.

sorry for the late reply, I was rather busy this week.
Yes, I believe you have got it. I can't login as administrator
. But I can't remember of setting an expire date ..... ?
I've reactivated the account and Zentyal mail module is starting again. What an easy solution .... I you know what to do
.

After a long time without problems on my 4.0 version I need some help.
The above mentioned modules don't start anymore. In the zentyal.log I found the following:
I don't know what the log want to tell me, which password is required ?
What I did before:
Two days ago I installed ecodms on the server additional to zentyal. First everything worked well. But after a reboot of the server mail and openchange module will not start again. I tried it a couple of times, everytime the same situation. When I try to restart the modul manually same result.
ecodms has installed a postgresql-db. Could this be part of the problem?
The above mentioned modules don't start anymore. In the zentyal.log I found the following:

Hallo Zentyal-Freunde,
ich habe lange herumprobiert und mittlerweile läuft mein System wieder. Eigentlich habe ich letztendlich nur eine Sache geändert und das möchte ich kurz erläutern. Vielleicht hilft es ja auch dem ein oder anderen.
Ich hatte 2 NIC's im System NIC1 (eth0) für internes Netz und NIC2 (eth1) für externes Netz (Verbindung ins Internet). Ich konnte mich schwach daran erinnern, dass in einer älteren Version diese Konfiguration auch zu Schwierigkeiten geführt hat. Ich habe dann die NIC's so getauscht, dass eth0 das externe Netz und eth1 das interne Netz bedient. Seitdem sind meine Probleme weg! Ich bin der Meinung dass ich sonst eigentlich alles gelassen habe wie es war. Oder die Umkonfiguration hat ein Problem geradegebogen. Ich weiß es nicht.
Ob es wirklich daran lag kann ich daher nicht mit 100%iger Sicherheit sagen, aber wer Probleme hat: ein Versuch ist es wert.

Hallo Zentyal-Freunde,
habe ein ziemliches Problem mit dem DNS Modul. Habe es im englischsprachigen Teil des Forums schon mal versucht aber leider keine Antwort bekommen. Daher versuche ich es hier:
Habe Zentyal 4 mit Samba4 für meine Win7-Clients installiert. Für die restlichen Clients in Netzwerk (Kabel und WLan) arbeitet der Server als Gateway zum eigentlichen Router. Der Server hat 2 NIC's um internes und externes LAN (Router und Internet) zu entkoppeln. Klappt auch soweit ganz gut. Allerdings kommt es reproduzierbar zu DNS-Timeouts. Nach dem Starten/Anmelden der Win7-Clients klappt alles hervorragend. Aber nach einiger Zeit (ca. 15-20 Minuten) kommen dann die DNS-Timeouts. Auf der DOS-Konsole über nslookup auf den Servernamen eindeutig zu erkennen. Ein ping auf den Server funktioniert, ein ping auf eine Internetadresse funktioniert nicht. Wenn ich dann mehrere DNS-Anfragen im Browser oder Konsole auf verschiedene Namen generiert habe, geht es auf einmal wieder bis es wieder nach einiger Zeit hängt. Jetzt kann ich mir selber da noch helfen - auch wenn es lästig ist - aber den anderen Netzteilnehmern geht das gehörig auf die Nerven und es fällt dann auf mich als Admin zurück nach dem Motto: die blöden Rechner, warum geht bei uns nie was ... .
Ich befürchte ich habe irgendwo einen Konfig-Fehler, aber ich weiß nicht so genau wo. In den Logfiles habe ich gesucht aber keinen - für mich erkennbaren - Hinweis gefunden. Habe das Gefühl die Probleme treten nur bei den in der Domaine registrierten Clients (Samba) auf, die Handies und Tabletts scheinen davon nicht betroffen zu sein. Habe vor einiger Zeit versucht die Firewall zu konfigurieren um einigen Geräten (TV, Printer) das telefonieren nach Hause zu verbieten. Rückblickend könnte es sein, dass die Probleme da angefangen haben. Kann es sein dass ich beim "Aufräumen" der Regeln eine Zentyal-definierte Regel mit gelöscht habe? Die Liste der Firewall-Regel [edit] auf der Konsole mit iptables -L [/edit] ist für mich zu groß als dass ich da mit meinem Wissensstand einen Durchblick bekomme.
Hoffe ich habe alle notwendigen Informationen aufgelistet damit ihr mir Tipps zur Fehlersuche geben könnt. Ich zähle auf euch ... .

Unfortunatly my problem isn't solved yet . I made some tests:
on the console of my server nslookup works fine. From my win7 client nslookup works a couple of times and then I get an dns timeout. When I get the dns timeout I can't ping my server (I'm using the IP instead of the name). So something is wrong with my configuration or the onboard NIC has a problem. But the server is a new HP microserver and I don't think the NIC has problems.
But anyhow: what can I do to find the problem? Is there a log file where I can find a tip for my problem? I checked the logfiles available in /var/log/ but I couldn't find something ....
. I made some tests:on the console of my server nslookup works fine. From my win7 client nslookup works a couple of times and then I get an dns timeout. When I get the dns timeout I can't ping my server (I'm using the IP instead of the name). So something is wrong with my configuration or the onboard NIC has a problem. But the server is a new HP microserver and I don't think the NIC has problems.
But anyhow: what can I do to find the problem? Is there a log file where I can find a tip for my problem? I checked the logfiles available in /var/log/ but I couldn't find something ....

I think I have solved the problem. I deleted the entry of my zentyal from item 1 (look at the picture from my last post) and on item 2 I inserted all client WITH corresponding IP's for witch the dns should work.
Until now it works fine.
What I'm missing at zentyal at this point: why the definitions from the network are not taken over in the dns section? Is there a reason to do it not?
Perhaps this description will help somebody else.

I have some trouble with DNS modul. I assume that I don't have enough knowledge for setting up the modul. I tried so much configurations that I can't remember all the steps I did.
Normally zentyal seems to work fine. I have installed it with AD for my Win-clients. Login works fine. But very often I have problems that the clients don't have internet access. Even a ping to my server don't work. In my server I have 2 NIC's, 1 for internal net (192.168.xx.2) and 1 for external net 192.168.yy.2) with an separate router (192.168.yy.98) connected to the internet.
As attachment you will find a screenshot. I believe my problem are starting here (but I'm not sure ). What have I to define under the points labeled with 1 and 2?
My actually configuration on this topics:
1: I have only inserted the IP of the server
2: I have inserted the names of the clients from my internal net
Actually I'm not able to choose the name of the external router as nameserver in this section. Why? Where I have to define it first? At this moment I have defined the server as nameserver. Is this right or do I have only to define the external router as nameserver?
As additional information: some weeks ago I tried to disconnect one client (printer) from the internet using the firewall. I have deleted all rules in the meantime. Is it possible that there is still some misconfiguration because of my trials?

Mit Thunderbird kann ich die Sieve Scripte einwandfrei verwalten, die Scripte werden auf dem Server auch gespeichert aber wohl leider nicht ausgefürht. Muss in der sogo.conf nicht irgendwo der Pfad der Scripte angegeben werden? Wie lässt sich das Problem eingrenzen?

unter der Version 3.0 habe ich einige Mails durch die integrierten Sieve-Scripte von Roundcube verarbeitet/verschoben. Wie mache ich das in der 4er-Version? Wie bekomme ich diese Funktionalität wieder hin? Hat da jemand eine Idee?

German / erledigt: Admin-Oberfläche auf Zentyal 4.0 startet nicht mehr

Hallo Zentyal-Freunde,
versuche gerade einen neuen 4.0er Zentyal zu konfigurieren (einige Erfahrungen aus 2.x und 3.x) vorhanden.
Allerdings startet bei mir die Adminoberfläche nicht mehr auf dem Server. Remote kann ich alles machen, nur auf dem Server selber startet sie nicht mehr . Auch wenn ich von Hand das Icon auswähle startet gar nichts mehr ....
Hat da irgendeiner einen Tipp für mich?

nach einem apt-get autoremove war alles wieder ok ....
habe wahrscheinlich irgendwas ausprobiert und weiß nicht mehr was

kleine Zusatzfrage: welche Verzeichnisse sollte ich auch ins Backup aufnehmen, damit ich noch einfacher den (Zentyal-)Server restoren kann? Der Service-Restore brachte eine Fehlermeldung. Der geht nur mit dem Cloud-Dienst, oder?

Hallo Zentyal-Freunde,
ich habe hier bei mir einen aus meiner Sicht sehr, sehr merkwürdigen Fall:
Am Dienstag dieser Woche habe ich gemerkt, dass ich keinen Zugriff mehr auf meine Mails habe, weder vom Laptop via Thunderbird noch über Android noch über Webmail. Da auch ein Reboot des Servers (läuft unter Zentyal 3.0.xx und ist eigentlich sehr, sehr zuverlässig) nichts gebracht hat, bin ich der Sache dann am Donnerstag mal intensiver nachgegangen. Und siehe da, das komplette Zentyal-Mailmodul war nicht mehr installiert. Jetzt bin ich zu sehr Linux-Laie um mir hier evtl. selber auf dem Server nach kaputten Konfigdateien zu suchen. Ich habe also das Mailmodul neu installiert/aktiviert und konfiguriert, die Mailadressen wieder angelegt (es waren nicht so viele, da kleiner Heimserver) und Dank des in grauer Vorzeit angelegten Backup-Mechanismus (dem Himmel sei Dank für mein Tun 
) alle Mails wieder zurück spielen können.
Aber jetzt zu meiner eigentlichen Fragen:
Habt ihr sowas schon mal gehabt/gehört? was kann das ausgelöst haben? Ich habe definitiv NICHTS am Server geändert seit Sonntag. Vorige Woche habe ich nur im Webserver SSLv3 deaktiviert.
