Email and Groupware / Re: Letsencrypt and 3rd party certificates
« on: August 24, 2019, 01:30:10 pm »
Hello Markus,
The script you have put forward does it work on Zentyal 6.01? I would not like to break anything on our Zentyal 6.01 Mail server but our staff are not happy about the certificate showing the CN as mail01.zentyal-domain.lan and therefore shows the "Not secure message" in the Browser when using SoGo. Now I understand that because the certificate is self assigned it creates the CN as  hostname.zentyal-domain.lan I notice too the certificate DNS shows the same. When the certificate is generated through the Zentyal UI the correct common name is inputted but not created as expected.
I would really be glad if there was the capability to setup say lets Encrypt via the Zentyal UI. Can someone help as I am certain many have had similar issues?

I have just installed Zentyal 6.0 what are the considerations or how to to get this working please. There is no openchange service. I have installed the Certificates with matching common names etc. Mail Server Diagnostics proves 100% and all in order but GMail still marks as SPAM because message is not encrypted.
    Test                                                              Result
   SMTP Reverse DNS Mismatch    OK - 101.98.76.xyz resolves to mail.xyz.co.nz
   SMTP Valid Hostname            OK - Reverse DNS is a valid Hostname
   SMTP Banner Check                    OK - Reverse DNS matches SMTP Banner
   SMTP TLS                                    OK - Supports TLS.
   SMTP Connection Time            1.346 seconds - Good on Connection time
   SMTP Open Relay                    OK - Not an open relay.
   SMTP Transaction Time            4.303 seconds - Good on Transaction Time

OK using the method above the new Zentyal 5.01 reports the samba module failing to save the changes, their state is unknown: samba.

Zentyal Log error:
Failed to save changes in module samba: root command kinit -e arcfour-hmac-md5 $
Error output: kinit: krb5_get_init_creds: unable to reach any KDC in realm C-IT.LOCAL

The problem is different though because it is nolonger a credential issue but KDC thing? Checked DNS resolving OK to Domain Controller and from Domain Controller back to the new Zentyal 5.01 before attempting to launch new zentyal server as an additional Domain Controller.

Is there a limit on how many additional DCs you can have on a Zentyal network?

Hi vshaulsk, thank you so much for pointing this out. I have been going in circles here and all I needed to do was use an account other than the administrator account setup on the primary domain server. I used a user account with administrator rights to join the the additional Zentyal domain controller to the Zentyal network. Still baffled as to why I could not use the administrator account which was essentially set identical on both domain controllers.  8)

One difference though I needed to build a Zentyal 4.22 Server the same version as the Domain Controller. Now I have attempted to get the same process to work with the Zentyal 5.01 build currently it is complaining about Samba. I will check the module reboot and try again.

Installation and Upgrades / Zentyal Components
« on: December 28, 2012, 08:02:29 am »
I need some help with this one please. After installing Zentyal and upating - I chose a day or so later to install additional Zentyal components. However the Zentyal Server failed to add / install these newly selected components. The error appears to be access to the following the following site allocated to New Zealand subscribers, could this be so?? http://nz.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/n/ncftp/ncftp_3.2.5-1_amd64.deb  403  Forbidden. Also a similar result while running the update from the terminal. When running the sudo apt-get update && apt-get install zentyal-"component" the following same error is noted see log example:

Failed to fetch http://nz.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/s/sshpass/sshpass_1.05-1_amd64.deb  403  Forbidden E: Unable to fetch some archives, maybe run apt-get update or try with --fix-missing?

Is there a way of knowing if the issue is only my system or is my external IP range not permitted to connect to this NZ resource? Just guessing here...
Secondly will I be able to install the components from the ISO without starting from scratch?
Can I safely configure the Zentyal Server to up date from an alternate site?

I will really appreciate any help - Thank you. 8)

Installation and Upgrades / Connecting Zentyal to the cloud

I require some help to get a Zentyal Server subscription working. I have a valid username and password which can logon successfully to the cloud service. I am sure I am following the well documented process to subscribe. The internet connection is working and browsing the Internet is not a problem. All the Wizards completed OK and appeared to be seamless. From the Zentyal Server I can telnet 92.243.5.103 1194 without any difficulty.

Internet-->SMC Router-->External Zentyal NIC-->Internal Network

The system fails with the following:

Could not connect to VPN server "92.243.6.103:1194/tcp" Check your network firewall.

The Zentyal.log reads as below (This log was another attempt)

2012/03/03 21:10:33 WARN> SOAPClient.pm:84 EBox::RemoteServices::SOAPClient::instance - Doing connection to web service: urn:EBox/Services/RegisteredEBoxList without credentials to https://92.243.29.209/soap
2012/03/03 21:10:34 ERROR> SOAPClient.pm:191 EBox::RemoteServices::SOAPClient::AUTOLOAD - Client side: Failed to access class (EBox::Services::RegisteredEBoxList): Can't locate EBox/Services/RegisteredEBoxList.pm in @INC (@INC contains:) at (eval 244) line 3.

Any help will be appreciated - Thank you.
