Installation and Upgrades / Re: problem Outlook clients do not work fine

i had the same problem the other day after i ran updates of os and zentyal.
to solve it i had to apply changes in the webinterface (a box appears on the top right of the page) and then reboot the server.
if you have updated packages this might be the solution for you too

i had the same error. i downloaded the iso file again and verified it using the md5 hash posted on the download page
also i left the computer plugged into the network so it could get the latest updates over the internet
i hope this helps you too!

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Zentyal to Zentyal Configuration Help needed

the zywall has ipsec and l2tp. maybe you can see if the fritzbox also supports one of those.
it is possible to set up a site to site vpn even if the manufacturers are different as long as they both talk the same "language" (ipsec or l2tp)

when you set up zentyal, did you choose the network card as internal or external?
if you set it up as external it is protected by the firewall in zentyal with very strict rules and you will probably have to allow traffic through it to make it work

Installation and Upgrades / Re: initial configuration fails because of package dependancy [solved]
« on: July 17, 2015, 02:32:43 am »
after the 4th reinstall i have made the following notes. i do not know if they are significant or not, but if i stray from that way of doing it i get in trouble
download the iso and verify it with the md5 hash found here:
http://download.zentyal.com/zentyal-4.1-development-amd64.iso.md5
if you reinstall make sure you delete the virtual machine and the vhdx
when you install make sure the vm can connect to the internet. it seems it will go online to fetch the latest packages
relax, its a great learning experience
i hope this can be of some help to others!

Installation and Upgrades / initial configuration fails because of package dependancy [solved]
« on: July 16, 2015, 01:17:54 pm »
dear sirs/madams
i messed up the installation of my zentyal test (4.1 community edition, zentyal-4.1-development-amd64.iso) and decided to reinstall and start from scratch again.
now i get a problem when it is time to run the initial configuration.
the message says (translated from my native language):
the following packets have dependencies that are not fulfilled:
zentyal-openchange: depending on zentyal-common (>=4.1.1) but 4.1.0.29 is to be installed
i have tried apt-get manually (both on openchange and common packages)
i have done apt-get update and upgrade
i thought something was wrong with the iso file so i downloaded it again. still the same result
i have tried installing it without allowing it to connect to the internet since it might pull packages directly from the internet.
still the same result
i am not familiar with how apt-get does dependencies, but to me it looks like zentyal-openchange requires zentyal-common to be above a specific revision but insists on installing an older version instead
the strange thing is that i installed it without any issues a week ago on the same hyper-v host, same network, same iso file without any problems
Any suggestions from the good people out there?
