Directory and Authentication / Re: BDCs dont`t replicate to PDC
« on: March 10, 2017, 03:00:59 am »
Sorry.  I did not get a notification that you responded.  I happen to browse the forum and found this thread again.

Were you able to resolve your issue already?  If so, what did you do differently?

I have the same setup as you and it is working great.  After some time however (maybe a month later) when I add a computer to the domain, I see it in the computer list on the BDC the computer is connected to but not on the PDC.  But when I add a user, the PDC and all BDCs have the new user in their user list.

My current solution for the above is to create a new BDC to take over the failing BDC.

What steps did you take to build the BDC?

Hi,
I am using Zentyal 4.2 as an Active Directory.  It works great.  I tested the "Configuration Backup" feature by saving the configuration on my local machine, then built a new Zentyal machine and loaded the configuration into it.
The new machine works well.  The users can login to PCs without problems.  The users can login to Macs without problems except during login, a pop up message says 'There was a problem connecting to the server "pdc.INTRANET.LAN". Check the server name or IP address, and try again.'
After pressing the [ OK ] button, the user successfully logs in to the network.

I can prevent the pop up message from appearing by configuring the Mac to store a "Mobile" version of the user's account.
Note: If I switch back to the original machine, the Macs do not have this pop up problem.
