Installation and Upgrades / Zentyal 5 installation problems

Same issues on 3 installations:
When selecting the components to install, i choose everything except the MAIL module.
In the installation screen i get a error message: The packages installation has not finished correctly . More information on the logs in /var/log
/zentyal/

When logging to webconsole the next error is displayed:

Also when running apt-get update i get the following errors:

These erros keep returning on three from scratch installations, are these bugs or are there workarounds available?

After I continued the installation and activated transparent proxy i noticed that some websites where not available and blocked by Zentyal, even with the allowed all for everyone?

I will keep on testing and hope to receive some feedback

Installation and Upgrades / Banned User

I'm having a problem with a fresh zentyal 4.2 installation and squid.
After installing and activating the squid module, I always get a Denied error screen when accessing a http website on a client:
Your username is not allowed to web browse: -
Access Denied
Banned User.

https and ping work fine.
I now that the squid module is not included in the 4.2 but I supposse that it should work correctly?
Can this error by caused because something extra needs to be installed or maybe a extra configuration is needed.
I have done several new installations but the error stays the same.
In the access rules for the proxy I have nothing special, just:
All Time - any - allow all

Installation and Upgrades / Zentyal 4 - DC and proxy not starting

Hello,

We are having trouble launching the Domain Controller and File Sharing and the http proxy service.
Because these modules are missing in the 4.1 release we cannot upgrade to the latest Zentyal version.
So could somebody help me solving this problem, I have been searching on the web but could not find any solution.
When starting the samba service we get several errors in the zentyal.log file:

Installation and Upgrades / Lightsquid installation on Zentyal 4

Hi Guys,
As of version 4 there the option webserver has disappeared.
In the previous version I always installed Lightsquid, for evaluating the traffic.
Can somebody confirm me if a web-server can still me manually installed and won't interfere the Zentyal installation itself?

Installation and Upgrades / Zentyal 4 slow proxy

Hello,

We use Zentyal mainly as proxy, DHCP and firewall, this for 400+ users in different Vlan's.
I implemented the latest Zentyal 4 yesterday, a day later the http sites start loading really slow.
Https sites loads as fast as they should, after restarting the proxy everything works as normal again.
I know that you can change max children settings etc, but I was wondering where to do that in Zentyal 4?

Installation and Upgrades / VPN port 80 acces denied

Hi Guys,

I successfully setup a open VPN connection, although I can ping the local network for some reason i'm unable to display http sites (port 80) running on web-servers in the local network.
Other services, such as RDP (port 3389) are available.
It seems that port 80 is blocked for some reason, this on all the servers on the LAN site.

I surely need to add something to the firewall but I cannot figure out what?

The HTTP Proxy module in module status is not starting after updating Zentyal to 3.5, when activating the module it keeps running but doesn't start.
Can somebody help me out?

I get an error message when trying to add new MAC addresses in network objects.
Find the error message displayed below, is it possible to fix this myself, if yes how
It misses a network object but the name objc43 is unknown to me?

We have allot of users and would be very handy to not have to input them all manually.

Installation and Upgrades / loading site is taking a long time

Hi,
I just installed a zentyal and updated it to the latest version 3.4.1.
Transparent proxy is enabled, treshold is disabled, the rest of the configuration is default.
Some sites are loading very slow, or not at all, the url's that trouble me are http://www.sporza.be - http://www.deredactie.be/cm - http://www.koopjeskrant.be/
It seems that the loading hangs on ads.pebblemedia.adhese.com - cs.pebblemedia.be subservers.
When I disable the proxy server than the sites load instantly, could you guys know what could cause this problem?

Hello guys,

I'm running a Zentyal 3.2 server with a transparent proxy.
We lose a large amount of bandwidth because users are playing online games.
I managed to add category lists, but servers as for example Star Wars: The Old Republic are not blocked because they directly communicate at IP level.
 
On the Internet I found a list of ip's to block, but the list is huge.
Can these listing be imported or is it possible to block the entire range so these don't need to be added individually?

Installation and Upgrades / /boot partition full

hello Folks,

Last week there was a Kernel update for Zentyal 3.0.21, but unable to install this one.
I noticed that the /boot partition is used for 100%, so I have have to remove some kernels but it keeps telling me about dependencies linked to the used kernel.
Can somebody tell me how to remove these older kernel versions and create some free space?

Hello,
We have a Zentyal server acting as a firewall/domaincontroller/DNS server, domain xxx-domain.lan.
After forwarding port 25 + dns service the to mailserver (Debian - postfix - dovecot), I'm unable to access port 25 externally, on the internal network it works perfectly.
All the other ports I forwarded (993.-995-53-143) work fine externally.
The mailserver (debian) has DNS active, this for another domain.
So it must be a configuration problem but i'm unable to figure out what....

After saving my modifications done to network objects or the default proxy filter profile all the connected clients cannot access the Internet anymore (only https sites are working).
The proxy service stays active all the time and doesn't go down, restarting the service brings no solution.
The only thing I can do is restart the server.
What could be the cause of this, are there any settings I could check?
