« Last post by turalyon on December 04, 2023, 11:02:03 am »Sometimes, when the network module is restarted by other dependencies, the content of /etc/resolv.conf is lost, and it requires the network to restart by hand.
Also, what modules are you using? Can you ping anything? For instance:
- Ping to your router.
- Ping to a public address (8.8.8.
- Ping a public domain (google.com)
Finally, you must analyze the network configuration (IP, gateway and DNS), whether the module is enabled or not, the rules from the firewall, if you have the IDS module, you might stop it temporarily, analyze the main log files:
- /var/log/zentyal/zentyal.log
- /var/log/syslog

- /var/log/zentyal/zentyal.log
- /var/log/syslog
- /var/log/auth.log
- /var/log/zentyal/access.log
- /var/log/zentyal/error.log
- /var/log/nginx/error.log
Also, I recommend you to enable the debug module as follows:
1. Edit the parameter debug in the log file /etc/zentyal/zentyal.conf
2. Restart the webadmin module to apply the changes.
Finally, did you confirm that the services that manage the webadmin are running?

After a reboot of my Zentyal 7.0 installation I lost all connectivity to the routers and, therefore, the internet.
Has the same thing happened to anyone else? I have tried everything I could think of, but I can't get my head around it.

Other modules / Primary and Secondary DNS on MS stations
« Last post by juliocp1976 on November 30, 2023, 12:19:21 am »Hello, I have the following scenario: Zentyal 7 with Domain Controller (SRV01) and or Zentyal 7 Additional Domain Controller (SRV02).
On Windows machines I use the primary DNS SRV01 - 172.16.0.100 and secondary DNS 8.8.8.8, so the machines authenticate with SAMBA and browse the internet normally.
As my network is growing to almost 2,000 hosts, I created this Additional server because if the Primary fails or is isolated due to a problem, the Additional takes over.
HOWEVER, if I configure the windows machines DNS1 Primary server and DNS2 Additional, the machines DO NOT browse the internet.
I configured Zentyal according to the manual for it
etc/zentyal/dns.conf
# Example: intnets = 192.168.99.0/24,192.168.98.0/24
intnets = 172.16.0.0/16,192.168.1.0/24
DNS server is set to - Enable transparent DNS cache.
Forwarders - 172.16.0.100, 8.8.8.8, 1,1,1,1
Does anyone know where I can adjust this?

Portuguese / DNS Primario e Secundario nas estacoes W

Nas maquinas Windows uso o DNS primario o SRV01 - 172.16.0.100 e DNS secundario 8.8.8.8, assim as maquinas se autenticam no SAMBA e navegam na internet normalmente.
Como minha rede esta crescendo quase 2.000 hosts, fiz esse servidor Adicional pois caso o Primario apresenta falha ou fique isolado por algum problema o Adicional assume.
POREM se eu configuro as maquinas windows DNS1 servidor Primario e DNS2 Adicional as maquinas NAO navegam na internet.
Fiz uma configuração no zentyal conforme o manual para ele

Also, did you check the configuration file /etc/passwd ? Did you restart the webadmin module?
Finally, you might try again to create another local administrator as follows and login to the Zentyal GUI:

im trying to login in the web interface, but it keeps saying that the password is incorrect - yeap i check it many times - i can login with the password in the desktop, ssh and as sudo but i can login on the website.
according to the zentyal.log
