Installation and Upgrades / SSH access for LDAP user
« on: September 27, 2009, 08:14:13 pm »
Hej all,
I would love to grant my EBOX users access over SSH to their SAMBA home directories.
What do I have to do for that?
Since these users are only availabe over the smbldap interface they cant login locally on the machine.
But I can also not add an user with the same username getting an error message, that this user already exists.
Thank you for your help
Schiggy

News and Announcements / Re: Usage of eBox Platform
« on: August 25, 2009, 08:58:43 am »
Hej all,
eBox really made life much easier for me, when I set up a server for our university workgroup.
So now we are using it first of all as a fileserver. But also the eGroupware and Jabber server are established and are working like a charm.
Until now I havn't figured out how to send emails over ebox server for event notification in eBox and in eGroupware (I am pretty new to all that server stuff), but hopefully I will find time to learn that also.
My main future wish: better Documentation!
edit: just saw the new documentation under http://doc.ebox-platform.com - great job

Installation and Upgrades / Use LDAP Server for authentification
« on: June 22, 2009, 11:55:41 am »
Hej folks,
I would like to use the integrated LDAP server of eBox to authenticate my users of a web app against.
The web app is hosted on a different server than eBox.
But when I try to connect to the LDAP server I allways get the error message:
ldap_sasl_bind(SIMPLE): Can't contact LDAP server (-1)
Connecting from the localhost of eBox works just fine. But not from other machines.
Has anyone a suggestions what I am doing wrong?
Thanks in advance.
