Hi,

I want to set.up a Mediatomb server, I've spent a couple of minutes now and Im very frustrated now...
I want to allow Mediatomb to browse through /home/samba. Especially /home/samba/shares/filme.

So, I dont want to write anything else, here the permissions ;)

Code: [Select]
root@server:/home/samba# getfacl shares/
# file: shares/
# owner: root
# group: __USERS__
user::rwx
user:www-data:r--
user:nobody:r-x
group::rwx
group:mediatomb:rw-
mask::rwx
other::rwx
default:user::rwx
default:group::rwx
default:group:mediatomb:rw-
default:mask::rwx
default:other::rwx

Code: [Select]
drwxrwxrwx+  7 root __USERS__ 4096 Sep 30 17:53 shares
Code: [Select]
drwxrwx---+ 46 3000007 __USERS__ 16384 Nov  9 17:27 filme
Following user:group is the user/group for mediatomb:

Code: [Select]
mediatomb:mediatomb
I cant get mediatomb to browse it, I can browse /ome/samba, but its shown as empty :(

Whats wrong? hwich permission is not set correctly?!

UPDATE: Its a kernel-related problem! 3.2.0-31 is causing this problem! 3.2.0-29 is working well!

==============================[/b]

Hi :)

I've successfully set up Zentyal with the latest installer (x32).

The complete installation procedure finished successfully.

Here my hard drive specs:

4x 2TB drives (SATA, AHCI)

3 RAIDS (1x swap, 1x /boot 1x raid5 for LVM) (not created, it was already present from the previous Zentyal version)
2 VG's: Mountpoint / and /home

Until now, I've worked with previous Zentyal stable version.

All I did to switch to Zentyal 3: leave the /home as is and format all other partitions. The Zentyal installer has recognized all raid and LVM devices. This config seems to run successfully.
Since the fresh install (no, wait - 3 until now :P) I have one mysterious issue:

Every boot, I get this (https://www.dropbox.com/s/5vy5zkgbvs7p5co/20120914_213014.jpg) error. But only for a few seconds.
I cant imagine what is going wrong...

I've installed the 5 system updates which are available directly after installation and rebooted the system. Now I get a hang on every boot:
fsck messages are printed along with the messages which LVMs are present. After these few lines, nothing happened. 2 minutes later I noticed the error "Could not write bytes: broken pipe", but the system starts in both cases without any following error.

The syslog doesn say anything, all normal.

These error was reproduceable every boot.

Fresh install again (with same partitions): Exactly same behaviour: After install: The error message that one device is not ready. And only after install the 5 system updates (linux-firmware, new kernel and some other things) I get the hang.

Maybe Ubuntu doesnt like the existing RAID/LVM config?

Should I clean all disks (low level format) and re-create the config, using the Installer?

Maybe someone has a hint for me :)

EDIT: The concerned drive is the RAID for the swap partition. This swap partition cames from the previous installation (not formatted during Zentyal 3 installation). Can this produce the "hang"?

Edit2: Maybe Useful resources on this issue?:

It seems to be a related problem to the issue on the posted pages.

I'll try a few things to get it working again.

Hey :)

I currently have a seperated /home Partition.

Simple question: Is it possible to re-install zentyal and tell the installer for / to format and /home to NOT format and still have all data stored in /home available after installation?

Is Zentyal touching itself something on /home after a normal installation?

Thanks ;)

Check your cables/hard drives if you get this error!

===========================================================================

Hey :)

Just testing latest beta on my System:

Asus C60M1-I (http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_CPU_on_Board/C60M1I) with AMD FCH A50M (Hudson M1) Chipset
4 x WD20EARX (all working! tested with WD-Diagnostics)

Raid 1 for /swap (for all devices)
Raid 1 for /boot (for all devices)
Raid 5 for LVM

LVM for / and /home partitions.

Sata-Type: AHCI

The first boot shows following errors (all other boots shows them, too):

Google said, this could be a bug, cables and hdds are in good conditions - maybe because mdadm is working on resync the new array?

Can someone give further informations?

Thanks!

Installation and Upgrades / [SOLVED] Zentyal-Image: Ubuntu Upgrade?
« on: November 11, 2011, 09:29:31 pm »
Hey Zentyal-Team!

Simple question (No, I've found no answer :/ ): Is a update of ubuntu on the zentyal-image planned (11.10 for example)? If yes, which version and when?

Thanks!

EDIT: Ok, I've found the answer myself:

  • Zentyal only supports Ubuntu LTS releases
  • Next LTS release (currently 10.04.3) will be 12.04 - LTS-releases releases every 2 years

Installation and Upgrades / Configure autostart of x11vnc
« on: September 14, 2011, 02:46:36 pm »
Hey :)

Today I set up a VM with Zentyal 2.2 to test it before I setup my productive system with it.

For remote control, I want to use x11vnc to get screen:0. X11vnc working great but it doesnt start while booting.
I need a init.d-script that starts x11vnc after X11 but I dont know how to make it.

Can someone provide a sample script or any tips?

Thank you!

Installation and Upgrades / Zentyal behind a proxy?
« on: August 23, 2011, 10:54:03 am »
Hi :)

I've set up a zentyal for some tests behind a proxy (current stable zentyal). But zentyal can't install any modules over the WebUI. I've set up http(s)_proxy varibles, so apt-get can connect over our proxy to the internet. But how can I tell zentyal this setting?

Hop someone can help me.

Hey!

Today I've installed all available updates (new linux kernel and new zentyal packages, including core, squid and other.)

Code: [Select]
# apt-get clean
# apt-get update
# apt-get dist-upgrade

# reboot

After that, I can't establish any connection to https://localhost
http:// works fine, but apache seems to stop listening on https (443).

Why?

netstat:

Code: [Select]

Installation and Upgrades / [1.5] Software Raid Problem
« on: August 08, 2010, 07:57:52 pm »
Hey,

i've got the latest beta release of eBox from sf.

I've tried to install it and set the following partitions:

Installed drives: 2x 500GB S-ATA HDD's

I've configured with the Partitionsmanager a Software Raid1 over the inbuilt way. Ok, Software raid is there, eBox successfully installed.

But after the first reboot after installation:

And now i cant  continue... :-/

Does eBox support software raid? or is simply something wrong on the grub-config? The installer means at the end: "Generating grub entries for "/dev/sda /dev/sdb"".

Hope someone can help me :)

EDIT: i used the expert install mode..
