Installation and Upgrades / MDADM and Resource Monitoring support
« on: September 22, 2015, 03:26:41 am »
Hello,

I have recently updated my server to Zentyal 4.1 from my older 3.5 (I think).  In my old server I had some features that are no longer present in the new version.  I was curious if there is a way to get the MDADM and Resource monitoring pages back.  I run a small server here at home and use those features to see how the hardware is doing and if I need to replace a drive or upgrade any of the hardware to meet my needs.  If there is no way to get those pages back what are some alternatives that I can use to add simple raid and hardware monitoring to the system.

Regards,

Richard

I added the repository, and added gitolite.  However I do not see any new menus in my Zentyal Sever to configure Git.

I looked at your site but don't see any instruction how how or where to install your module.  And help would be appreciated, I would be happy to start switching my revision control to git from SVN.

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Installing USB Printer
« on: March 04, 2010, 02:18:33 pm »
Recently I have been working on this issue again and have been able to get it work for windows XP but not windows 7.  When I manually setup the driver I can connect to the printer and install the driver in windows XP only.  When I try to connect with windows 7, I get an error every time.  Is there anyone that can help me out with this here?

I am wondering what I am doing wrong here of if there is indeed a bug in eBox.  I set all packet filter configurations to accept any and I keep getting blocked form accessing eBox.  I also opened up the ebox and ssh ports as well and I am still locked out of my own server.  Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

I am also having problems with getting my printer to work.  CUPS recognizes it fine and I can even print a test page.  however when I share it up I get a windows error while trying to connect.  The same setup with 1.2 worked fine.  Also would it be possible to allow full administration rights of CUPS with eBox.  When I hit the "Enable standalone CUPS:" check box it lets me see the printers but not add or remove any of them.  Since I have never been able to get eBox to find a printer via usb I need to set it up manually with CUPS.

Is it possable to allow local users administration rights in cups.  IE tie the configuration to the local network port?  I had to go in and manually change the cupsd.conf file as shown below in order to administrate my printer.  Also would it be possible to move the option to configure using cups under the main printer tab so a printer does not need to be added in order to configure using cups.

eBox cupsd.conf
Code: [Select]
<Location />
  Order allow,deny
  Allow localhost
  Allow @LOCAL
</Location>

# Restrict access to the admin pages...
<Location /admin>
  Order allow,deny
  Allow localhost
  Allow @Local
</Location>

# Restrict access to configuration files...
<Location /admin/conf>
  AuthType Default
  Require user @SYSTEM
  Order allow,deny
  Allow localhost
</Location>

<Location /printers>
  Order allow,deny
  Allow from @IF(eth0)
</Location>

Modified Version
Code: [Select]
<Location />
  Order allow,deny
  Allow localhost
  Allow @LOCAL
</Location>

# Restrict access to the admin pages...
<Location /admin>
  Order allow,deny
  Allow localhost
  Allow @Local
</Location>

# Restrict access to configuration files...
<Location /admin/conf>
  AuthType Default
  Require user @SYSTEM
  Order allow,deny
  Allow localhost
</Location>

<Location /printers>
  Order allow,deny
  Allow from @IF(eth0)
</Location>

Installation and Upgrades / Re: install new printer driver
« on: January 14, 2010, 07:14:26 am »
Hey,
    I currently have a Brother, DCP-7040 printer and i want to share it over my network.  I was able to install the driver manually and have it work properly however the eBox server overwrote all of my changes when i installed the printer module to change it.  Is it possible for me to add a custom driver to my eBox install.  If i could install the printer manual and have eBox share it that would be great, if you could add the printer to eBox that would even be better.

Thanks,

Richard

I currently have set up an eBox with the open VPN module, and validated that it works by connecting with a windows VPN client.  I spent about 3 hours last night looking at how I can do the same with Ubuntu however I do not think there is a suitable GUI to do so. I found two clients that support VPN for Ubuntu however I unable to get them to connect properly.  Most of the forms I read pretty much said if you want to connect to open VPN with Linux you need to do it through the command line.  If this is so I would like to have the VPN start up automatically.
