Other modules / Re: Request Certificate with CSR Code
« on: March 07, 2021, 01:32:00 am »
I know this is quite old - but I was looking for a way to do this and found the following way worked:

Use zentyal to create a certificate with the name you want.
Log into your zentyal server and replace the CSR found in /var/lib/zentyal/CA/reqs/ with the one you want to make the cert for.
Renew the certificate in Zentyal (this will use your new CSR)
Download the certificate bundle and use it

Installation and Upgrades / Re: The future after 3.3
« on: July 07, 2015, 12:50:02 pm »
My system failed last week so I have rebuilt with 4.1.

It is missing Proxy management but the main difference for me is the Apache virtualhost management.

Can anyone recommend a good control panel for Apache virtual hosts that plays well with Zentyal?

I'm only using it for me and I don't need mail/ftp or reseller management.

Thanks.

Installation and Upgrades / The future after 3.3
« on: June 12, 2015, 03:43:11 pm »
Hi All

I'm currently running 3.3.

I use it as a gateway, dns, firewall, webserver, proxy server, vpn, print server, samba server.

I don't use it for DC or mail.

As a result I don't intend to upgrade through to 4.1, but I am interested on peoples recommendations on where to go next.

I'd probably be loooking at upgrading to 16.04 LTS so have a while to prepare for it.

Thanks.

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Squid can't use local DNS

No - I can't work out where that value comes from.

My local interface is 192.168.1.1

I'm not sure why it is needed either, why isn't is using resolv.conf

I've just spent some time looking at this in my rig.

On my system /etc/squid3/squid-external.conf has a dns_nameserver entry of 192.168.0.1 which is incorrect.

As a fix I edited the stub file /usr/share/zentyal/stubs/squid/squid-external.conf.mas

I commented out line 179 (#dns_nameservers <% $dns_nameservers %>)
and then when I save settings squid-external restarts and problem solved.
