Installation and Upgrades / Re: Freeing up disk space
« on: July 03, 2010, 08:24:39 pm »
Hi, I've run into this problem some weeks back. I use 1.4.2 version. standard installation (easy one) and that time i still gain access to CLI console, but not webGUI
I found this on ebox forum but forget which one .. so i just passing this on, all credit goes to them.
ebox squid cache location is /var/spool/squid/
CLI command to start/stop ebox squid service is #sudo start/stop ebox.squid
That time i just stop ebox squid service,
delete only directory inside /var/spool/squid/ starting with 0,
give squid to reconfigure command squid -z,
restart ebox squid service
Hope this help
Regards

Installation and Upgrades / Re: Access Ebox from VPN
« on: April 26, 2010, 10:08:49 am »
Dear aka_gyt
Seems the firewall is blocking proxy access from outside, check filter from external to ebox on firewall menu. ebox seems look the 192.168.160.xxx to be external.
add the port 3128 to allow access. but this means fully open port 3128 to outside world, please be carefull Hope this help.

Try using the DDNS service .. and access the management GUI from Firefox browser.
note : dont forget to create firewall rule to enable access to ebox web management from outside.

Installation and Upgrades / Why the web GUI in eBox 1.4 is very slow?
« on: April 12, 2010, 09:11:22 pm »
Hello all,
I'm installing eBox 1.4 from ISO, still figure out other feature in eBox, so far its awesome
but something curious me, why accessing the eBox web GUI is slow,
both in eBox or workstation, considering its local web.
For every click on menu sidebar takes 2-3 minutes to open up,
saving process its takes up 4-5 minutes, restart the server almost 10 minutes.
but at the same time, accessing internet and stuff are working fine and fast.
Is there anything I can do to speedup this ? or perhaps its was normal condition ?
FYI : I'm using 2 WAN and 1 LAN configuration, standalone configuration, already try on
both Atom Dual Core and P4 Dual Core with 2Gb ram and 250Gb HDD.
Thanks for great solutions
