I have the same problem with an HP DeskJet 6988 and Ubuntu Hardy (8.04) server. The printer works fine if you set it up using CUPS manually - but the settings get clobbered if I try to set it up within eBox.
Has there been any progress with this bug? Is it worth trying the 1.0 release candidate?
Incidentally, this minor nuisance aside, eBox rocks!
