Installation and Upgrades / Using windows logon name and password for RADIUS?
« on: August 31, 2013, 05:59:02 am »
My goal (if possible) is to have domain joined Windows 7 laptops sign on to the WiFi automatically, using the Windows credentials; without manual setup. Right now I have to manually add the wireless network, and uncheck the "Automatically use my Windows logon name and password" in the EAP MSCHAPv2 properties. I'm considering this setup for a small organization but I don't want to manually set up each user and laptop.
(Network and Sharing > Manage wireless networks > Properties > Security > Settings > Configure
Authentication works when I uncheck the aforementioned checkbox - Windows will pop up a window asking for credentials. I type my Zentyal login and password and I connect.
My setup:
* Zentyal 3.0.25
* Wireless access point (ddr-wrt) set up with RADIUS
Below are the Zentyal RADIUS logs. As you can see Windows is trying to authenticate with DOMAIN\\Username, which fails:
2013-08-30 23:22:38 Login OK bschraders 10.10.10.2/32
2013-08-30 23:22:38 Login OK bschraders 10.10.10.2/32
2013-08-30 23:14:52 Login incorrect LSD\\bschraders 10.10.10.2/32
2013-08-30 23:14:52 User not found LSD\\bschraders 10.10.10.2/32
2013-08-30 23:14:49 Login incorrect LSD\\bschraders 10.10.10.2/32
2013-08-30 23:14:49 User not found LSD\\bschraders 10.10.10.2/32
Thoughts anyone?
Thanks!
