Running Zentyal 2.2 on USB Flash Drive
« on: March 16, 2012, 07:03:18 am »
I have searched but have not found an answer yet.
I want to use Zentyal as a gateway and firewall, possible proxy for building of 150 users.
Zentyal will be installed on Atom N450 with 2gb Ram.
I'm thinking of install on a flash USB  (16GB) or 160GB HDD. Can anyone tell me if the PC is enogh to serve that number of users ? Pro & cons of install on flash usb ? I want to minimize moving part of the system.

Thanks.

about the actual perfomance of the atom pc im not sure,  are you just interested in gateway or do you need / want proxy and trafic shaping as well for example...

about the usb-drive  dont... usb is a really slow medium, and your zentyalbox will be dead-slow  but even worse and the flash-chips inside them are verry much NOT  suided for day-2-usages   so if you want that, use a real   ssd-drive...
