eBox on WRAP, Alix or other embedded device
« on: January 28, 2009, 08:59:31 am »
Hi,

first of all, some words on my (home) enviroment. Today I run a server for virtualisation with several guest systems for all services I want to have at home. For power saving purpose this server isn't running all the time. In this times I don't habe dhcp or (internal) dns running which sometimes leads into trouble. From former times I own a wrap-board (www.pcengines.ch). So my plan was to install ebox on it...
First try was to do a ubuntu pxe-installation. After several hours I found out that PXE on wrap-board is buggy >:(
Then I tried to do a debootstrap installation (for the first time in my life) that didn't work, because (I think) I made any mistake (stop booting with "Alert /dev/sda1 does not exist and drop to busybox"). Has anyone done something similar and give me some advice?
Maybe there is a ready to run image of ubuntu or eBox?

You know, I was just thinking the exact same thing but for my net5501.

I guess I could do a ubuntu pxe installation and take it from there or maybe install it on a different machine.

If anyone has any pointers please let me know :)
