you are using zentyal as a firewall
zentyal does NAT right out of the box, your internal LAN client can ping to the internet, lets say google.com, your torrent client will connect no problem.

If you are using a proxy server/zentyal, allow your client to browse the web  and your torrent client will connect no problem.

torrent client does not use the same port every time, so cant be blocked easylly.

I think ziltch means that he wants to enable incoming connections.
It is correct that some port needs to be opened, depending the port that the torrent client uses for incoming connections.
The process has been documented and is easy to do.

Cheers.

hi, escorpiom is right,

in my case, my utorrent is configured to receive conection in port 6881, this port i should open in my zentyal router/firewall and redirect it to my workstation where utorrent is running.

regards/saludos

Hello! I have a similar problem.

I have Squid server 2.2.0 used as HTTP Proxy in my network (non-transparent proxy, default 3128 port). On a client machine at uTorrent program it is written at "Connection" section. (proxy type: HTTP, IP 192.168.10.252, Port 3128)

My network has a default gateway 192.168.10.254 connected through VPN to main company. (The channel is slow and overloaded)

The problem is that torrent-client program downloads torrents therough the default gateway. Seems that Zenthyal denies connections through itself. I wonder, if port forwarding can help me? What rules I have to add?

I suggest deleting daniel washington's post (an this one too) as it is totally irrelevant to to this issue.
If you have an issue, open your own thread and be specific about it, providing as much information as possible.

Cheers.
