Zentyal 2.2 Virtual Machine images available!
« on: December 28, 2011, 12:06:24 pm »
Hi Zentyal community members,

We have updated our VM images to include the latest Zentyal 2.2 packages.

You can download disk images for VirtualBox, VMware and KVM (qcow2 format) as usual.

We consider that VM images offer a quick and easy way to have your first experience with Zentyal without having to install it. All you need to do is just to create a Virtual Machine with your favorite virtualization tool and use the pre-installed Zentyal disk image instead of creating an empty disk.

To download the images or to get more information, please visit:

http://trac.zentyal.org/wiki/Download/VMImages

Please note that the VM images come with a reduced set of Zentyal modules. In reality Zentyal offers many more features and once you have created your VM, you simply need to enable them in the "Software Management" section.

As always, any feedback or suggestion about the images would be much appreciated!

Hi,

I was excited at first I want to test running Zentyal as KVM machine from within Zentyal host.

But have encountered the following two problems.

First of all the console screen blinks as described here: http://forum.zentyal.org/index.php/topic,5786.msg27942.html#msg27942

I cant find the IP address of the VM to log in to remove openbox or edit qemu / kvm configuration file.
I cant help feeling being able to switch from Cirrus to VGA adapters should be a feature in the zentyal interface.

I tried adding a network adapter as bridged from within Zentyal web interface but the dropdown which says "bridge to" only has the option NONE.  So i cant even create an interface to log into.  Ive found this post http://forum.zentyal.org/index.php?topic=8968.0 but dont really understand it.

Any suggestions?

I'm having the exact same problem. I've read a few users that are attempting to manually modify the /etc/network/interfaces file and manually add a br0 interface but I haven't had luck with that. I've manually added it as root and saved the file but that doesn't work and the interfaces config file is reset upon reboot anyway.

How do we add a bridged interface through the Zentyal front end that populates the "bridged to" drop down list?
