[SOLVED]Open relay?

Hi All,

I just set up my server and have set them  up before, so I do understand the process. However, this time, I noticed some warnings in my mail.log file that I have not seen before.

First, a little on how my server is set up.

Server is a workgroup server for my home. I have a domain name and an mx record from an external company that points to the ip of my server. I relay mail to a smart host that I pay for.

When I sent mail to my sister, Karen, or anyone else for that matter, I see these in the mail.log:

amavis[21216]: (21216-09) Open relay? Nonlocal recips but not originating: karen@work.com (work.com is a pseudo for her business e-mail address).

Now, the mail will go through just fine, but these warnings are annoying. Any way to silence them?

I have tested my mail server to see if it was an open relay, but it passed all the tests that were thrown at it.

Probably that only means that the domain on your from header is not local, neither it is the one in the recipient. Should be fine.

Yeah, I don't see any issues with sending/receiving mail, but wanted to know if it could be stopped.

There are some articles online about it and how to fix, but not sure about just modifying config files especially since Zentyal manages these files.
