External Hard Drive for File Sharing
« on: January 20, 2008, 10:58:06 pm »
Would it be possible for me to use an external USB drive for file shares? I have a good enough knowledge of Samba to go in and edit configuration files or create symbolic links if need-be, but could that potentially "break" eBox?

Thank you,
Chris

Hi Chris,

I think you would mount those directories you may want (/home/samba/users/ ...) in the external hard drive by editing the /etc/fstab. This file is handled by eBox so it's difficult to be broken by it :).
