« on: September 01, 2011, 01:54:20 pm »

Would you mind rephrasing what you target?  ???

Is the idea to have Zentyal services like VoIP or VPN to rely on external Radius server?
I'm asking because I'm a bit confused with generic "Zentyal as Radius client". To me it has to be at least seen "per service", Zentyal being only service container (thus there is no Zentyal authentication).

Then when you write "VPN authenticate from an external RADIUS server" do you rather mean "VPN authenticate against (or "to") an external RADIUS server"
It's not nitpicking  ;) but understanding how you would like to handle authentication is key and I don't for the time being.

Anyway, I don't think so far Zentyal provides such capability that is to use external Radius for services hosted on Zentyal box. However your question may raise some interesting debate because of some specific needs.

I need to create multiple VPN or VOIP server by Zentyal and i will not add user in local Zentyal db
i will setup an RADIUS server that all of my servers use that for user authentication
is it possible?
if yes for which service (PPTP, VOIP and/or OpenVPN)?

thanks

Clearer now.
If you already have such "mandatory" infrastructure, what do you expect from Zentyal and why would you want to deploy it?
It will be, from my standpoint, much easier to deploy your own server(s) with services that you will configure to rely on your existing Radius server where you already manage accounts.

Is there something I missed?  :o

No. http://doc.zentyal.org/en/presentation.html and it comes with its own single account management module for any service implementing authentication.
