[solved] adding (windows) client to domain fails
« on: June 23, 2011, 05:21:55 pm »
I am trying to add a windows 7 client to a zentyal domain and it fails.

When I try to add the client through systemproperties / computername -> change and fill in at domain: domain name configured in Zentyal PDC, I get an authentication screen. When putting in the LDAP admin credentials I get the message: The domain doesn't exist or can't contact the domain.

Can anyone give some pointers what and where to configure LDAP/PDC?

Same problem here. It does's matter what I do re-LDAP and Domain Controller options (File Sharing menu) I keep getting the same error and fail to add Win7 PCs to a DOMAIN.

I did check if the keys added by the regfile allready exist or not and I'm quite sure they allready existed. But I will doublecheck and add the regkey to the W7 client when I am back there. I'll post some feedback when I have checked.

Better late than never: after applying the reg patch on the client, there was no problem at all to join the domain.
