Synchronization LDAP
« on: July 25, 2011, 08:53:53 am »
All good afternoon.
Here what problem.
I have installed two different server Zentyal.
srv1 - DNS, master LDAP
srv2 - proxy and a mail, slave LDAP
Synchronization LDAP happens normally.
But, if I on srv1 install SAMBA (PDC) - that synchronization process is completed with an error. New users srv1 don't appear on the slave srv2.

Tried other variant.
srv1 - DNS, proxy, a mail, master LDAP
srv2 - slave LDAP.
After setting SAMBA on SRV2 synchronization happens. But only for those who was before setting SAMBA. After setting SAMBA - new users appear with an error and don't receive file service.

Somebody faced such problem and how it have solved?

Read http://doc.zentyal.org/en/directory.html.

There is an important limitation of the master/slave architecture. The master Zentyal server cannot have modules which depend of users and groups, for example filesharing and mail. If the master has any of these modules installed, they must be un-installed before trying to register any slave.
This is a well known limitation.
It doesn't make sense to me either, but it's there, as you have already noticed.

Thanks for the answer.  :)

It turns out a little clumsily, and it is not so "beautiful"

I will make experiments with three servers instead of two. :(
1 - master LDAP only DNS + DHCP
2 - slave LDAP with A mail + proxy
3 - slave LDAP (PDC) for Windows computers

I use the translator, I am sorry for "English"
