Codepage in Samba
« on: October 16, 2008, 09:25:15 am »
Hello Evrybdy!

Does anybody know, how to change the default codepage used by Samba module? I use polish characters in file names and they are displayed with underlines instead of the real characters used, for example, when I want a file to be named: dochód-łącznie.xls I get: doch_d-__acznie.xls. In pure Ubuntu its achieved by changing the following parameters in smb.conf:
- character set = ISO8859-2
- client code page = 852
The problem is that when I tried to change these parameters in smb.conf, save it, reboot ebox and after that, when I change something through the web interface, everytime I get an error during saving samba configuration :-\.

Can someone point me to any resources which could help me solve this problem?

Thanks in advance

Ernesto

It works!!!
I replaced only display charset = ISO-8859-1 with ISO-8859-2 and dos charset = 850 with 852 ;D

I love EBox!

Thanks Juri!

Ernesto
