Mail thru ebox server

i seriously need help, Ive got as far as getting my mail up and running but it only works if i set my settings to go directly threw my router, so i always need to have a direct line to my router, i want to know if anyone can help me to run my mail threw e box? how do i set up my e box for mail? i want to run my e box for mail and internet, but at the moment i just cant figure out how to configure my e box to run as a mail server too? any help would be greatly appreciated.. :-\

To make ebox-mail work, you may follow these simple steps (I may forget any of them):
  • Create users through Users -> Add user
  • Create a virtual domain through Mail->Virtual domains, for instance, mail.com.
  • Allow POP/IMAP authentication if you want through Mail->General->Services.
  • A smarthost to forward your outgoing mails and allowed hosts through network objects to send mail to your smtp through Mail->General->Settings
  • Enable mail service at Module status -> mail
  • Create mail account to your users through Users->Edit user -> select one -> Create mail account

Hope this helps you a little.

Where do you get "Relay access denied"? In eBox, or in the smarthost?

Hi Sixstone its in ebox at mail queue management and on outlook I see there is mail trying to go to my server or something aswell here is what it says

in the server it is possible to ping google so the connection sould be fine i suppose!!

It seems your clamv updating is failing.

Can you check you have an output rule to allow connections from eBox to Internet?

Please go to Filtering rules for traffic coming out from eBox, and add a rule to accept everything in case you don't have it.

Thanx ive done so now its updating but still gives me mail relay failed in outlook any ideas???

You need to create a object which contain the IP of the outlook's host and allow relay mail through it.
To do so, once the object is created, go to the 'setting;' tabs in Mail page and you will find a list of allowed and unallowed objects. Put your object in the allowed list.

That has been done Javier one question though how does ebox know where the email is comming from (my isp server) and how does ebox then authenticate with the server at my isp?
Do i need to direct ebox to my isp`s server and if so how do you go about doing that? ???

 ???i am also in similar situation. i configured virtual mail domain as mydomain.local and want to send and recieve from my isp hosted mail server thru ebox. any luck as of yet?

can some one guide us thru? thanks in advance.
