/etc/lxdm/lxdm.conf settings ignored
« on: December 27, 2010, 11:40:39 pm »
Can anyone tell me how to (a) enable server-console autologin, and (b) launch a shell script at console logon?

In standard lxde these are controlled by /etc/lxdm/lxdm.conf and ~/.config/autostart/* but in Zentyal 2.0-3 neither seems to have any effect. I guess there must be documentation on this somewhere but so far I haven't found it.

Also -while not greatly important- I'd rather that Firefox didn't launch at startup, as the web interface will be accessed remotely, following our normal practice of servers being headless.

Thanks.

First impressions are that this is a great product, BTW. Certainly much easier to administer than a vanilla Ubuntu or Debian server.

Hi!, Thank you for your words about the product :)

Regarding, your issue, try with /etc/lxdm/default.conf and /etc/xdg/lxession/LXDE/autostart (these two files are the ones that the Zentyal installer modifies to customize lxdm and start firefox).
