Hi there,

in another posting I surgessted a WebDAV funktionality as a nice to have feature for future versions of Zentyal.

In the meantime I found two possible solutions (one of them is denoted on the Samba addon homepage):

Alternative 1:
http://www.samba.org/samba/GUI/
http://davenport.sourceforge.net/ (Direkt link)

Alternative 2:
http://freshmeat.net/projects/smbwebclient/

For instance, I prefer the Davanport solution (Alternative 1, preferred as HTTPS).  I tried

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=758857

but I did not made it run. Can someone help a Linux Newbie (myself), please.

Thank you and best regards
Thorsten

PS.: Why do I think this is usefull?
In some cases, e.g. unexperience users its is easier give a web access to a file structure rather than an OpenVPN setup. Additonally I do not see any need to give a far related person a complete "long term" access to my internal netwerk (containing home automatisation servers) for just some file downloads. Moreover - sometimes I do not have my laptop computer arround when I want to show a file, e.g. just when visiting somebody. But I might to access the foreign network....
