how to configure wireless ACCESS-POINT ?
« on: September 26, 2010, 05:36:45 pm »
Hello,

We r using the 2.0 version of ebox on a ubuntu 10.04 server.

We installed one ebox server in plan to replace our current router. Everything is ok except the wireless part. We dont find how to configure it.
We followed the guide here http://trac.zentyal.org/wiki/Document/HowTo/SetupWireless without sucess. Our computers cannot see the ebox server ESSID announced. Plus it does not explain how to configure security mode/authentification. Isn't it "built-in" on the webinterface ? What module we must install ?

Best regards

I have succesfuly configured an alteros wifi adapter to be an access point.
If your adapter support master mode (altheros does) you simply configure 802.11 stuff in hostapd.
Then you can bridge your lan and wlan together.

Create a secure linux based Wireless Access Point (WAP)

Hope this helps.
