« on: November 18, 2008, 10:48:37 pm »
Good evening,

Unless I am mistaken, FTP is already installed on eBox.
How to use it ? How to appears to the left of eboxes to use easily ?
What should we set ?

Thanks.

Hi Hauwee,

There is no FTP daemon installed by eBox. However, you may install any FTP daemon you want, for instance proftpd, taking into account firewall issues.

Thank you.
I just installed proftpd with the command : apt-get install proftpd
As against, how to manage it by eBox ? If I think this page (http://blog.thelinuxfr.org/spip.php?page=imprimer&id_article=18), it can be done easily with eBox but I do not see where or how: (

eBox does not manage proftpd of any way. However, a user has posted a howto integrating an FTP server with LDAP authentication to share users created in eBox with your FTP server [1].

Keep in mind, if you are using ebox-firewall, you may open the ftp service, creating it at first to internal connections to eBox.
