No webinterface
« on: December 30, 2007, 11:11:52 pm »
Hi!
I have just installed ebox on one of my pcs. My intention is to run it as a fileserver. However I cannot get the webinterface to work. I have looked up the box's ip with ifconfig but browsing to that adress in my browser doesn't give me anything. I have also checked it with lynx from the ebox-pc with the same result. Any ideas?

Can you tell us what exactly you typed in your browser to access the webinterface?

Check out "https://<eBoxIP>/ebox", substituting <eBoxIP> by your own IP.

Check apache is running as well.

Ah, missed the whole secure http-thing. Maybe a pointer from the http site to the https site would be good?
Thanks for all the help :) Ebox rocks! :D

The http redirection to https may lead undesirable problems when another HTTP server is installed and running. For instance, next eBox release will include a simple management for Apache2 HTTP server and the default http port is used to listen to requests.
Best regards and thanks for choosing eBox!

Hi guys! I'm having a little strange problem. I can't connect to eBox via web browser! I typed "https://(eboxIP):443" and "https://(eboxIP)/ebox", and it doesn't work. I checked IP an it's right, I restarted apache - done. This problem happens after when I configure the network cards via web browser.
Anything is highly appreciated!

You must leave, at least, an interface as internal, that is, not checked as external one. If not, the firewall will block your https connections.

Thus flush the iptables rules and then set up the network interfaces correctly :)

Now, I'm stuck! I have now 2 network cards, one is external and the other is internal. I still get no access via web browser and I flushed the iptables with command: iptables -F
Why this thing happens when I configure network cards via web browser?
Help me guys, please!!

azlop: Did you try to use a switch and just connect both network cards to the switch and then  try to connect either through your (i assume ) dhcp interface by default your connection from your router is on dhcp and just check what your eth0 and eth1 using ifconfig .

if your running a proxy you will not create a loop if you plug both cards into one switch and if your connections aren't  the same Ex. 10.0.0.1 and 10.0.0.2 your it must be changed in the first 3 ip brackets (10.0.0).2

hope this helps!!
