eBox 1.4 (1.4.2 in the beginning, 1.4.7 now) for about 4 months working OK, mail, imap, thunderbird clients, about 30 accounts. No groupware, no samba.

Then few days ago I tried enable groupware services. Some problems with adding admin account into eBox eGroupWare: ebox admin account in egw not working, so I tried to add the same account into egw. Not working (I found http://doc.ebox-platform.com/en/groupware.html too late) and I add another eGW admin account from inside eGW.

2 days ago for users averything working (smtp & imap in, out, amavis, spamassassin.. include info written inside mail headers..) BUT I mentioned:

-in Dashboard > Module status  mail module stopped. Start button gives me exactly the same bug as solved in http://trac.ebox-platform.com/ticket/1715

-in Dashboard > Mail there is imap, imaps and greylist service stopped. Start button does the same bug as above.

-I ran /usr/share/ebox/ebox-unconfigure-module mail, BUT there is NO Mail module in Module status table (??) to neable. No changes in behaviour, same bugs when pushing start buttons again.

-so there is NO Mail module in Module Status. I CAN NOT wiew, configure.. etc. user accounts mail aliases. (but mail is still working)

-dovecot is running, I can see him in ps ax. I can telnet him localhost 143, * OK Dovecot ready. Thunderbird clients can work. BUT

-/etc/init.d/dovecot status says: /etc/init.d/dovecot: 187: status_of_proc: not found

Yesterday we found problem with some admin accounts (egw admin account made inside egw, another corrupted egw admin account made in ebox..) Acount were members of Default adn Admin groups. Management of this groups gave me:

A really nasty bug has occurred
Exception
Can't call method "get_value" on an undefined value
Trace
Can't call method "get_value" on an undefined value at /usr/share/perl5/EBox/SambaLdapUser.pm line 740.

Another groups worked fine. Collague fixed problems (some?) in ldap by hand made wiping out that admin accounts out of ldap.

Now Mail Modul as well as imap, imaps & greylist in Core > Dashboard is running, we can stop and start again. we can add/remove another user. BUT still there IS NO Mail Modul in Core > Module Status. I CAN NOT manage mail aliases etc. I ran ebox-software command, no change.

Whats the problem? Ldap inconsistency? Mail modules, registering etc.? Can I apt-get remove and install ebox-mail (or any other) package? Can I miss some usere configuration/data with it? What to do? Smtp&imap is working, although dovecot all the time says error 187. Im worrying about to broke it even more.

Good thing: machine is inside vmware, I can snapshot before tuning.

On Friday night I did:

apt-get remove ebox-mail
(autoremoved ebox-webmail, ebox-egroupware, ebox-mailfilter)

apt-get clean all
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade

reboot

apt-get install ebox-webmail ebox-egroupware ebox-mailfilter
(autoinstalled ebox-mail)

and later again reboot

As to the bugs I described nothing has changed.

Has anyone any advice, please?

Thanks, Alex
