jabber tuning PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE
« on: April 10, 2013, 09:32:32 pm »
hi,
I have a problem with ejabberd.

the server is configured as the guide says to Zentyal.
up to a certain amount of clients connected everything works like a charm.
when connections to the server become 50 or 60 everything starts to go wrong, as if he had reached a limit of connected clients and constantly there are clients that are disconnected and clients that connect nonsense.

what kind of tuning you can do on the jabber server?
in which file?

the server is on a dsl 10Mbps / 10Mbps that not have other problems.

I originally activated the encryption ssl then to try I removed the ssl encryption, but the problem remains.

stefano on zentyal 3.0.17 free version updated

bye bye

if you post more info (for example your hardware specks  the  tail of   TOP  or HTOP   when running that many clients, and  even the specs of your network ( for example:  maybe your router/switch/modem  has to limited resources to  route/twich trancieve  that many packets...

please dont expect us to solve your problems  if you dont tell us everything  (even the smallest detail)...

All tips hints and advices are based on my personal experience.
As I try my best to be as accurate as possible, following my advice is always at your own risk,
I claim absolutely NO responsibility in any way!

sorry if I have provided little information.
however, I did some investigation by looking at the running processes.

I saw that the problems arise at the same time a process called "beam" occupies a lot of cpu and memory and network.

who is "beam" process? what is it?

also:
you can know the minimum requirements of a server (cpu / mem) jabber with 100-150 clients connected?

maybe my system does not work well because it is not fast enough?
the PC server is a dual core with 2GB RAM.

IT ---
scusate se ho fornito poche informazioni.
comunque ho fatto qualche indagine guardando i processi in esecuzione.

ho visto che i problemi nascono nello stesso momento in cui un processo chiamato "beam" occupa molta cpu e memoria.

chi è "beam"? a cosa serve?

inoltre:
è possibile sapere i requisiti minimi di un server (cpu / mem) jabber con 100 - 150 client connessi?

forse il mio sistema non funziona bene perchè non è abbastanza veloce?
il pc server è un dual core con 2gb RAM.
