problem with a virtual interfaces
« on: April 03, 2010, 01:33:06 pm »
hi
ebox 1.2
following problem...
There are two interface:
eth0 external ip 94.15.38.2 with the gateway 94.15.38.1
eth1 local 192.168.0.1

eth0 is a switch to another interface 192.168.1.0
add to eth0 virtual interface 192.168.1.2 with gateway 192.168.1.1
and from ebox ping gateway 192.168.1.1 failed
ping 94.15.38.1 OK

if I change virtual and main on  eth0:
do virtual interface 94.15.38.2
and the main 192.168.1.2
that
ping 192.168.1.1 ok
ping 94.15.38.1 failed

In what may be a problem in that they can not operate on the same interface addresses from different classes?

second question
problem of incorrect work first, whether two network card ebox internal and external in one switch is not solved?

Hi,

Could you post here your firewall configuration? Actually, the filtering rules from external networks to eBox since I cannot reproduce your issue.

Best,
