Are there any GPO limitations with zentyal
« on: June 09, 2024, 01:58:21 pm »
I have been looking forward to migrate to zentyal for my business. I have one question. Are there any group policy limitations while using zentyal compared to windows server.

Hi,

A known limitation is that to set password policies it must be done with the samba-tool domain passwordsettings command. You have more information in the next link.
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Password_Settings_Objects

The Domain controller and Directory Services module in Zentyal is based on Samba. You can find information on how to manage domain members using Group Policy in Samba in this link.
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Password_Settings_Objects

You can also check the official Zentyal documentation for known limitations of samba 4.
