Hi all,

The Zentyal Development Team is glad to announce that Zentyal 7.0 is available for download now!

This is a new major release of the Zentyal Linux Server. It is based on Ubuntu Server 20.04 LTS and comes with the latest versions of all the integrated software, featuring Samba 4.11 and SoGO 5.0.1.

This new version is available for download at:

Hi,

I have noticed 2 bugs with 7.0.

1. Minor. After rebooting after the first setup and configuration the desktop is blank with no shortcuts that are normally there.

2. MAJOR. The resolv.conf file is not being written to properly and that results in no external DNS resolution. Even after forwarders are set in the DNS module.
The only way to fix this is to manually enter a nameserver entry in the resolv.conf file, which gets re-written on every reboot or module save.

I am assuming this is one of the reasons why the community product page has been rolled back to 6.2?

Hello there,

Thanks for reporting the issue with downloads. Are you using Chrome? The files are served using HTTP (http://download.zentyal.com/zentyal-7.0-development-amd64.iso) so your browser might be blocking the downloads. While we look at serving the files over HTTPS, you can try using another browser or downloading the files from SourceForge (https://sourceforge.net/projects/zentyal/files/).

I wrote in my post I'm using FF 88.0.1, Ubuntu 20.04 LTS (means FireFox + Ubuntu).

i have tried this 7.0 version but not able to install completely.
there was issue with webadmin module saving. it was shucked there.
i have facing multiple time this issue please help me out.

There is an open issue on Github, below you have the link. Aparently, it happens when you install several modules during the initial configuration wizard. Try to install Zentyal again but this time, only install the firewall module in the initial configuration wizard.

Any news from Dev team ? it has been very silent for a while. New version based on latest Ubuntu release for example ? You have a great product! 8)

I have the same problem, my pseudo-solution was to overwrite the /run/.....resolv.conf every time after a reboot by chaning the rc.local with such a copy command.

What is the real solution ?
