failed to register host (A or AAAA)
« on: April 26, 2019, 05:14:34 pm »
Zentyal Development Edition 6.0
In a Windows 10 after joined a Zentyal domain in the in the event log I get the message "Event ID 8018 System failed to register host (A or AAAA) resource records RR".
it appears that Windows 10 cannot register its host on the Zentyal dns server.
Is there a solution?

How is the client getting an IP? Via DHCP? What is the DHCP server? Zentyal? Some router/firewall?
Is the client not connecting to the network or just not appearing on the local dns?

Here, for example, clients get an IP from a DHCP server (not Zentyal), or can be manually assigned one.
The clients cannot register on the local dns directly.
If we need the machines on the dns, I assign a fixed IP and add the hostname + IP to the Zentyal dns.
