ebox 1.4 hangs on large file transer

Hi all,
I do not have much experience with linux.I am trying to migrate my office server (Win 2K3 ) to ebox. Ihave managed to install the ebox server and have setup a file and print server. I have tried to transfer the existing files from the server  into the ebox server using a external hdd which i have mounted onto the ubuntu file system.The copy command however fails after copying around 15 Gb ( I have around 35 Gb of data to be copied).The server hangs and the Caps lock and Scroll lock indications continue to blink continuosly and the server locks up.Pse advice how can i solve the problem.
