« on: July 16, 2008, 06:36:04 am »
hey guys, i'm installing ebox but the interface eth0 doesn't start at boot, i have to type /etc/init.d/networking restart everytime. when i do that works fine...but i cannot understand why i have to do this, in another server its start ever.

notes:
1) the network card is onboard, via82cxxx.
2) my /etc/network/interfaces

#start
#loopback interface
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

#eth0 interface
auto eth0
allow-hotplug eth0
iface eth0 inet static
address 192.168.0.99
netmask 255.255.255.0
network 192.168.0.0
broadcast 192.168.0.255
gateway 192.168.0.1

#end

Hi Andra,

There is nothing to do with eBox but please refer to Ubuntu forum www.ubuntuforums.org

Hope this helps.

Thank you.

hi javi, i solved that problem reinstalling the ebox plataform, the problem was the ACPI power manager, i shut down it, and works  :) , but now i've a new trouble, after the reinstallation, i installed 2 new network cards, realtek 8139 (8139too), both appears installed, i set the ips (ifconfig eth1 x.x.x.x) ok. but i cant ping any more, the web configurator doesnt work too, it's like the linux is confused ??? how network card must be used, understand ? i noob in linux, yet.  :-\... i cant solve this, any help ?  :'(

the eth0 appears to be changed to eth1, ???, there is  a way to fix this ?

let me show, what i wanna do.

eth0 - access the network (onboard)
eth1 - internet
eth2 - internet

my plans is create a transparent proxy server with multiwans , 2 gateways, more speed for internet, you know ?

i live in manaus, amazon, brazil, internet here... :-[...my download rate... 20 kpbs.. >:(
