Can you upgrade a zombie version?

Hello everybody
I would like to upgrade an OLD Zentyal 2.2   to  new version (4 or 5)
...yes I know  the samba version changes  (4)

Is it possible?
what is the best way to follow?
the current zentyal2.2 is a PDC with 30 users.
All PCs ( win7 pro ) are under PDC.
I would not want to EXIT all PCs from the pdc and then put back in the new PDC!!!!

From what I recall, there was no easy path to upgrade from 2.x to 3.x.  By the time you have this worked out, it probably would have been more expedient to just stand up fresh and rejoin everyone.
