Corrupt User Profile
« on: December 16, 2016, 12:10:03 pm »
Hi all,

just wanting to confirm my steps before I perform them.

We have Zentyal 4.2 Server, with clients on Windows 7 using exchange through Outlook.

One of the users when logging in comes up with a temporary user account.

I have copied all her user data to the server and was going to create a new account for her and point the email to it.

This gives an error that the mail account is already used, I can not disable the account to test out the new one.

Will it be OK to delete the old account and setup the new one?

I am just worried of the mail and tasks she had previously set up in Outlook?

Thanks in advance,

Captain Crunch

I ended up removing the email from the account, setting up a new user account and adding the email back onto the new account.

Taking the old OST file from Outlook 2013, converting to PST to import to the new user account. Also copying over all the documents from the old profile.

I couldn't find a way to move the email without orphaning the OST file and converting it?

A very long wounded way but managed it!

Hi,

in such cases just backup the user's mailbox resident under /var/vmail/...

And when you run the SOGo Backup Tool for the User, you also have all Tasks,... saved ;-)
