Can't use Gui - gconf error - CORBA error - how to reinstall?
« on: August 04, 2010, 09:44:39 pm »
Although my eBox 1.4 installation seems to be working OK, I can no longer log onto the web interface to administer it. The error message is set out below. I have tried the suggestions in this post:
http://forum.ebox-platform.com/index.php?topic=2606.0
but with no success.

Is there a way I can reinstall the eBox interface without affecting all my settings and data? All my email is on the system and I don't want to lose anything.

I don't know if this is relevant, but the ebox server (which is a Virtualbox virtual machine) has also stopped keeping time. The clock can be half an hour out until I correct it.

This is the full message I get when I log onto the web admin page:

Update -- my server is a Virtualbox virtual machine so I took a snapshot and tried
Quote
sudo apt-get install --reinstall ebox
The good news is that nothing was lost but the bad news is that my problem with the GUI is unchanged. Ebox still crashes as soon as I log onto the web interface, with this error message:

Ebox is version 1.4. I have made sure that I am running the latest releases of everything using apt-get update and apt-get upgrade.
Is there any information I can provide that would help to find a solution?
