Zentyal 2.0 System freezes
« on: September 02, 2010, 12:10:59 am »
Hi!
I'm new to Zentyal 2.0. I normally use SME and Windows. But looking around I found Zentyal 2.0 very interesting. So I gave it a try on a machine on which a Windows 2008 and an Exchange was installed. The PC is a Quadcore 2,4 GH, MSI Board, 320 GB Western Digital disk and 6 GB RAM. I've installed Zentyal 2.0 twice with the same effect. System freezes after a coupel of minutes. It worked fine with the Windows system.
Any hint why?
Thanks

The best way to make sure linux runs properly is to use a livecd from like Ubuntu and run off the cd without install and see if anything wrong and that most of the standard hardware is recognised. Then play around with it and see if it hangs or not. Usually its best after install to do apt-get update && upgrade on a new system just to make sure you have all the latest versions installed. You should use the 64bit version since you have 6GB ram.

Good Luck

attach your /var/log/syslog file here.
it will give us cluse that when and at what stage, the system freezes.
