( Solved ) Help with voip
« on: February 08, 2010, 08:49:41 pm »
I,m testing eBox 1.4 and got some questions about voip i cant seem to figure out.

First Voip works oke in and outbound with my sip provider so thats no problem..thnx

But when i try to acces my voicemail via a local sipclient i get the emailbox msg and can log in but it saves no msg nore can i hear anything afterthat.

Meetings doesnt work ootb i tracked it down that i must install dadhi.... i know from using Asterisk in a flash that this was an issu also......

Can someone help me in the right direction, cause i dont want to messup configfiles like i used to....thats why i like eBox.............

thnx in advance
did read the manual ;)

Sorry, my fault. The correct package name is dahdi-modules-ebox.

Can you make sure that dahdi modules are loaded ? Run sudo /etc/init.d/dahdi start and the check they are loaded lsmod | grep dahdi.

Music on hold MP3 songs should be dropped in /var/lib/asterisk/mohmp3/ and install mpg123 (these steps are still not in the doc, we are currently upgrading it).

This is the same version i installed before asking questions.
eBox Core version      1.4.1

Its got the newest dahdi version etc but it cant find the /etc/dahdi/system.conf
it seems
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
peter@*******:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/dahdi restart
/etc/dahdi/system.conf not found. Nothing to do.

sudo lsmod | grep dahdi

Doesnt return anything

cd /etc/dahdi$ ls -al
total 20
drwxr-xr-x   2 root root  4096 2010-02-05 21:05 .
drwxr-xr-x 118 root root 12288 2010-02-09 00:59 ..
-rw-r--r--   1 root root  1032 2009-03-12 16:15 xpp.conf

-----------------

There is no conf file in the dir /etc/dahdi

I´m puzzeld

Show us the output of "dpkg -l | grep dahdi" to see the exact versions you have installed...

Check also if there is update available for the "asterisk" package:

apt-get update
apt-cache policy asterisk

Yes, we found some packaging issues on dahdi, so as my partner said, run:

sudo apt-get update ; sudo apt-get install dahdi dahdi-linux

Hello,

After trying both your solutions i get this

peter@*******:~$ /etc/init.d/dahdi restart
Unloading DAHDI hardware modules: done
Loading DAHDI hardware modules:
modinfo: could not find module dahdi
DAHDI modules not available!
peter@*******:~$

And the dashboard stil tells me to install dadhi modules.

ps i did restart Asterisk and did a complete reboot.
Because this is not a production machine i can test some more to give you feedback

Thnx

PEter

hehe, that's the problem ! you are not running the ebox kernel, so the dahdi-modules-ebox are not loaded. make sure that you have linux-image-2.6.24-26-ebox installed and running :)

I dont understand this, i installed this with your installer ISO , does it mean i used an old version or do i have i install the inux-image-2.6.24-26-ebox  by hand ?

Because it is a test macine mayby it is best to grep the latest ISO and try again ????
