Partition - No Option to select physical volume for RAID
« on: January 17, 2010, 09:56:03 am »
Hi
I am trying to install ebox on a 3 disk setup. 1 with ubuntu with LVM as per the configuration guide and 2 in a RAID 1 array for /home

During installation using the 1.2-6 iso or 1.3.15 when I get to the partition stage there is no option to select “physical volume for RAID“ under the How to use this partition.

Have I done something wrong? Or is this normal?

I have set up the raid array with mdadm but it did not appear in the Disk Usage screen from the Dashboard.

Thanks

Here are the steps that work for me:

In the Partition disks dialog, select Manual.

Select sda disk, create new empty partition table.

Select free space, create new partition.

And in the partition options:

Use as: physical volume for RAID

I'm testing it with the 1.3.15 installer.

Thanks for the quick reply.

There is no RAID option when I get to the partition options.
The disks have been used before.
Would this affect what options are available?

I have deleted the data on the disks and now the RAID option appears.
