[SOLVED] Admin Console not connecting after fresh install
« on: December 20, 2014, 06:38:29 am »
I have just installed Zentyal 4.0 commercial on a VM. Everything seemed to install correctly, but the admin console is not connecting. The icon on the desktop points to https://localhost which gives an "Unable to connect" response. I have tried https://localhost:8443 and https://ip_addr:8443 on both the server and another pc on the network and get the same response. On the other PC when I try http://ip_addr it gives the nginx is working message.

"sudo service zentyal webadmin restart" gives unknown service error"

Any pointers to what log, services and config files to look at would be greatly appreciated.

This has been fixed.
For some reason installing from the ISO failed to install the main Zentyal service.
I manually removed then installed Zentyal using apt-get commands.
- sudo apt-get remove zentyal-common
- sudo apt-get install zentyal
I find it incredible that the main component fails in a supposedly stable CD/ISO install. Not a good sign when you're testing to replace a MS system.

Well... many years later I had this same issue on Zentyal 6.2 Development Edition after a fresh iso install on a VM running in proxmox.
Solved running in Zentyal terminal:
sudo apt install zentyal
