Zentyal 4.0.1 - How to Postfix rewrite outgoing address?
« on: November 06, 2014, 11:28:42 pm »
Hello,

internal I have @mydomain.intern email-addresses. When I send an Mail to extern, Postfix should rewrite the @mydomain.intern to @mydomain.com

How do I set the right values in what file? I can't find them. I have to set in postfix the "smtp_generic_maps = hash:/etc/postfix/generic". When I do this, after reboot I can't find the entrie in this file.

I found some older postst for 3.5, but I can't get them to work on 4.0.1

Could an Expert help me? :) Perhaps - Step by Step for dummy's :)

Thanks a lot
Matthias

Thanks :) Internal this works well, but sending mails to internet (gmx, hotmail and so on) there is @mydomain.intern the sending address not @mydomain.com :(

I created an "Virtual Domain" with mydomain.intern, then try to create an "External accounts aliases" für mydomain.intern:
Alias: info
Domain: mydomain.intern
External account: info@mydomain.com
Error: Address info@mydomain.intern is already in use by the user Info

How can I do this? Some short Help is welcome :)

Greetings matthias

Hi Matthias,

Firstly, from 3.5 to 4.0 everything around virtual mail domains has changed a little bit. No more outgoing mail domain masquerading in 4.0... good idea, but we should take into account some points.

Since we can use independently any virtual mail domain. Now it is quite important in which one your user has his mail account/inbox. You would probably like to place the user at the mydomain.com domain instead of the intern one. This way any interaction with that user will have the external domain.

For people migrating from 3.5 to 4.0 we just wrote a quick guide that (we hope) will help you: https://wiki.zentyal.org/wiki/Migrating_Virtual_mail_domains_to_4.0

Hi :)

thanks for the Info :) mydomain.com was my first way, but i fetchmailed the mails from an external mailserver and so, the mail internal generate an Loop und was blocked (Sender and mailaccount the same).
Zentyal is great and so i found a threat with fetchmail and "dropdelivered". Thanks to User "heupink" :) Now an cron-job and an modifed fetchmailrc works fine ... with my internal virtual Domain mydomain.com
Perhaps "dropdelivered" should be on the web-frontend? :)

Now this is [Solved] :)

Greetings and thanks for the help (i'll be back ;) )
