Hi,

I would like for various reason to deactivate the SSL on the Zentyal web interface and be able to access it directly trought http. Is it possible ?

No, and STRONGLY advised against.
It is easy enough to change the port so SSL port 443 is available for other services.

I know it's not recomended but I don't find any way for my apache reverse proxy to connect to an https website so I really need to be able to lift the ssl layer. Also it's not a port availability problem as i don't intend to use it on the 80 or 443 for that matter. Isn't there an option in some hidden config file or do i need to modify the sources directly in order to do that ?

VPN isn't that bad of an idea.... It moves your admin interface away from the big-bad-internet.

Agreed, and I use it to access just about everything on my network, although sometimes it's handy to have web access when you can install a VPN client on a work computer for example  ;D
