objects - clarification
« on: April 09, 2008, 02:06:53 pm »
hi,

i was asked this question but i could not answer it properly.
why do we need to create objects with:
Name
IP Address
Mac Address

and then enter all those details again in DNS and DHCP respectively?

would it not be possible to only create the objects and have the necessary entries for DNS and DHCP derived from them?

Thanks,

Nicolas

You are right. But unfortunately this feature is not ready now, however we have already taken notice of this and another integration issues.

Thanks for sharing your mind

Take into account about the flexibility loss.

I just thought about to add entries, if requested, when the object is a host which set up a fixed address in a static interface and a host in the selected domain.

Nicolas, if you have more ideas or thoughts, don't hesitate to spread them around :).

Thanks for your feedback!
