Zentyal 4.0 roundcube webmail?
« on: October 21, 2014, 11:47:01 am »
Hello,

I was wondering, since Zentyal removed the Roundcube webmail modules, is there a way around for still using Roundcube in 4.0?

Thanks,

Frans van Berckel

You can try to add the roundcube package from the contrib repo. Wheather this is going to work or not (without adjustments) is to find out...

Hello Rob,

It's using EBox WebServer. And that module is not avail, check my other topic. So we have to find a smart way around.

https://github.com/Zentyal/zentyal/blob/master/contrib/webmail/src/EBox/WebMail.pm

Thanks,

Since nginx is still available on Zentyal 4.0 you could try to use that to host roundcube. (btw, what is wrong with SOGo/OpenCHange webmail?)

Keep in mind that making modifications to templates will return with each update that involves nginx and with each server upgrade. and that is like every 3 months... customizations are a pain....

Hello Rob,

If I am well informed, nginx is only used for the Admin Webserver. The Webserver, Roundcube Ubuntu packages are depending on, is Apache. So that isn't a real way to go. There is nothing wrong with SOGo / OpenCHange webmail. But more users will find out, It's only supporting one sending domain. And users are more familiar with Roundcube, true.

Thanks,
